Volleyball

Short description of the sports discipline: 

  • Play until one team scores 12 points. The game must be won with a difference of at least 2 points. 

Team composition:

  • 6 players on the floor at any one time: 3 in the front row and 3 in the back row. 

  • If a team does not have enough female/male players, another team gets +5 points (at least one female and male on the field)

  • Maximum of 9 people in the team.

Short overview of the Rules: 

  • Maximum of 3 touches per side.

  • Each team must rotate one position after winning a serve from the opposing team. Players must maintain their rotational order but can quickly switch positions after the service contact.

  • The server must serve from behind the end line until after contact

  • Points are made on every serve for the winning team of the rally (rally-point scoring).

  • A player may not hit the ball twice in succession. (A block is not considered a hit).

  • The ball may touch the net during a rally. A served ball may graze the net and drop to the other side for a point.

  • A ball is out if it hits an antenna, the floor completely outside the court, the net or cables outside the antennae, the referee stand or pole, the ceiling above a non-playable area.

  • A player cannot block or attack a serve from on or inside the 10-foot line

  • Stepping in the half of the opposite team, as well as touching the net with any part of the body, will be considered a foul.
